In the first of our ‘Green Buzz’ podcasts, we discuss the need for more of a buzz around community hydropower. We also talk about hydro’s green taxonomy, financing, costs, grid capacity/ smart grids, policy issues and being inspired by community energy members in Cumbria, Wales and Reading.

Hydrogen is a fast-moving market, with evolving terms for construction, offtake agreements and project financing. In this podcast, we discuss various hydrogen plans across the North of England including the possibilities of multi-coloured hydrogen production in Cumbria including pink hydrogen.

We focus in on a green hydrogen project in Barrow-in-Furness led by Carlton Power and consider the business case, investment risks, the export opportunity and whether being a first mover in this space is an advantage or a disadvantage – or as hard as hacking through a field of thorns?
